– oil pumps vertical centrifugal pumps built into the oil tank and immersed in oil (oil pump motors are located on the oil tank cover); there are no rubbing elements in the oil pumps and external oil leakage to the foundation is excluded, which occurs when gear pumps (through a mechanical seal) standing on a separate foundation are operating;
– due to the absence of rubbing elements in centrifugal pumps, their overhaul period is significantly increased: as more than 10 years of experience in their operation in various pumping units shows, no shortcomings in the operation of oil pumps have been identified;
– the use of centrifugal pumps with a gentle (“soft”) characteristic eliminates the increase in pressure in the oil system when operating on cold oil, which occurs when gear pumps are used; this eliminates the possibility of oil entering the motor stator and the need for a bypass line from the pressure oil manifold to regulate the pressure in the lubrication system depending on the oil temperature.
